This hunt district has very open sagebrush flats and grass prairie throughout. This is an area that allows classic spot and stalk hunting, with hunters able to see for several miles in all directions.

Antelope numbers have declined over the past several years, leading to a reduction of licenses. Hunting in this area can be hard because antelope are very spread out and private land access can be frustrating.

The Musselshell River makes up the east and southern borders.Areas along the southern border have some irrigated fields with some timber. The nothern part of the district is covered with sagebrush and grass flats, with a few open sagebrush ridges.

Hunters will typically hunt the Gage Dome Block Management area, which allows access to a large portion of the district. Another option for access would be isolated portions of BLM and state lands scattered throughout the area, but this will require a GPS with a landownership overlay. Precipitation can cause access problems, roads become very muddy.

There are lots of stock and cattle ponds scattered throughout the unit. The majority of this district consists of very open sagebrush flats and some grass prairie. There are few isolated pockets of Ponderosa Pine and Juniper trees, which can be found on the southern and eastern parts of the area.

Roundup is the nearest town with accommodations. This is a small ranching community. Some lodging is available, along with gas, groceries, and several restaurants. Camping is also allowed on most public lands.
