This unit includes the Sulphur Springs Range in Eureka County. Terrain is diverse and includes some private property in valley floors, but is mostly public. A great area to get away from other hunters in sister units.
This unit produces a smaller population of mule deer than other sister units. Hunters who scout before the season, hunt hard and exercise patience, have a chance of finding big bucks.
The terrain is varied with low-lying valleys and a few agriculture fields. Both sides of the range rise somewhat gradually from the valley floors to moderate mountains, depending on your location.
Many public roads, ranging from maintained gravel roads to four-wheel drive and ATV trails lead to decent places to start hunting.
Main roads:
Sagebrush valleys and smaller foothills lead into foothills scattered with pinyon and juniper trees.
Hunters can find lodging, restaurants and fuel in the towns of Carlin and Eureka. Many camping spots for RVs, as well as tents, are along both sides of the Range.
