Hunters exploring Area 2 - Fortification, Wyoming should be aware of some discrepancies in the information available regarding season dates and quota types. While GOHUNT indicates a Limited Quota Type 1 for elk, some users have noted it was temporarily listed as a general unit, highlighting the importance of verifying current regulations with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD). Although public access is advertised as good, hunters should be cautioned that only 33% of the land is public, which might pose challenges in terms of accessibility. Additionally, users suggest connecting with outfitter Kerry Hardin for guidance, and emphasize the need to remain updated on official regulations to ensure a successful hunt.
